Join us for our West Coast Swing Workshops with our fabulous instructor Heather—perfect for both brand new dancers and our more experienced West Coast Swing lovers!


✨ 2:00–3:00 PM: Beginner Workshop

New to West Coast Swing or Want to Freshen Up Your Basics? This class is made for you! Heather will guide you step-by-step in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. No experience? No problem! We’ll help you build confidence, rhythm, and flow from the very first step. Invite your friends and come dance together!


🔥 3:00–5:00 PM: Intermediate Workshop

Already got the basics down? Time to level up! Heather will guide you through new patterns, styling tips, and connection techniques to help you glide across the floor with ease and musicality. Expect fun combos, a great community vibe, and get ready for a great time on the dance floor!

No partner necessary—just bring your energy and get ready to dance!

Heather’s passion for dance is contagious. With years of teaching experience in the Bay Area since 2001 (Ballet & Jazz) and West Coast Swing since 2012, including as a founding instructor at OmniDance and faculty at Fusion Academy, she knows how to make learning fun and effective. She’s a sought-after guest instructor because she creates a welcoming and laughter-filled environment where everyone, regardless of background, can discover the beauty of dance.

What level is this class?

These workshop are for beginner and Intermediate level students (the basic technique for west coast swing required to attend the intermediate level).

What should I wear?

You want an outfit that is comfortable and easy to move in.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

We suggest dance sneakers or low heel dance shoes for ladies (if you don't have dance shoes, socks will work too).

Where is the studio located?

The Motion Arts Center is located at 217 S Claremont St, right in the heart of Downtown San Mateo, CA.

Where can I park my car?

There is FREE On-Street Parking After 6pm and in all city-owned parking facilities everyday after 6pm and all day Sundays and on city-designated holidays. The New Kiku Parking Garage with 526 spaces is located at 400 E. 5th Avenue in San Mateo(you can park there and walk two blocks to the studio).
