The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff is proud to offer the California POST Entry-Level Law Enforcement Test Battery-POST PELLETB Written Exam at the Law Enforcement Training Center located in Pittsburg, CA.

The exam is free to attend and participants do not need to be active applicants in our hiring process. Limited seating is available.

The PELLETB is a multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank written examination designed to measure reading and writing ability. Applicants are given 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the PELLETB.

While test takers may take the PELLET B multiple times to achieve the desired score, California POST prohibits test takers from testing more than one time in a 30-day period. Taking the test within 30 days of a prior POST PELLETB examination will result in invalidation of test results.

To comply with California POST security measures, we are required to view and retain your government-issued photo ID for the duration of the exam.

Please plan to arrive on time. Check-in is at 9:45 AM and the test will begin promptly at 10:00 AM. Cell Phones, Smart Watches, and Backpacks will NOT be permitted into test room. Please secure them in your vehicle.

Recruiters from the Office of the Sheriff will be on hand to answer questions and speak to the event attendees prior to the test.

This testing is for non-applicants of the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff. If you have applied for the position of Deputy Recruit with us we will contact you for a testing date and schedule you.
