The CPCU Europe Chapter is happy to announce that we are aligning our event with the 1755 Catastrophe Conference which takes place on July 2 & 3, 2025. This will now be 100% a virtual conference taking place in conjunction with Oxford Green College, however the main organizer, Jim Jones, director of the Risk Management program at Illinois State University and a longtime CPCU will be down in Lisbon and will also join our event. Insurance professionals/ members of the Europe Chapter are encouraged to attend the 1755 Catastrophe Conference virtual presentations.

We have reserved the 1755 Earthquake Museum in Belem for 10:00 on Saturday morning, and the Pasteis de Belem afterwards, so if interested to join, please block that time. This is about a 20 minute UBER from the middle of downtown Lisbon.

Hotels that would be convenient would be the ones in Principe Real, or Chiado would also be convenient. Even Baixa, the center and tourist area is only a 20 minute walk to Principe Real.
